Because of dismal weather forecasts, “Exploring Visual Literacy: Understanding What You See, originally set for “March 12, 2022, has been rescheduled for April 2, 2022, at The Bascom: A Center for the Visual Arts, in Highlands, NC.
This experiential workshop, for teachers and teaching artists, will incorporate the stunning art collection in the beautiful Bascom Museum. Participants will engage with the art as viewers, photographers, writers, collaborators, and performers. Every activity will connect directly to the NC State Standards in Literacy, Writing, Visual Art, and Theatre Arts. Teaching artists will find natural links between their art and the Standards. Teachers will strengthen their ability to teach across subjects through and with the arts.
